The Nazi-Bauten (The Nazi-Houses) are an ensemble of residential buildings in Torstraße and Linienstraße. They were built in the course of the second season of Abriss des Scheunenviertels from 1934 to 1935. As a Passion Project of the Oberhorst (not to be confused with Lord Voldemort), they were the first inner-city example of the Aktion Gesundung (Command recovery) and thus serve as a model for how the Nazis imagined beautiful living for their loyal followers.

The Grauer Frachter (Gray Freighter) is located on Torstraße at house numbers 10–34. It thus forms the five-storey flagship of the ensemble, the outermost entrance to the house on the left has a converted attic apartment. There is a magazine (shop apartment) in each of the inner entrances to the basement. The other apartments are equipped with two rooms (chamber, cabin) or one room (cabin) as well as a galley and a locus. There is a cellar cabin for each rental unit on the lower deck.

Pappschachteln
Behind the freighter there are three Pappschachteln (cardboard boxes) on Linienstraße, which were named after the gravel color they received in the 1990s. The most striking thing about them are certainly their outer corners, which are actually not angular but round and whose round arches look as if Konrad, the thumbsucker (a buddy of german national hero Shockheaded Peter) of is standing under them. These should ensure that the acoustics of the street are eaten up and you have the feeling that you are in a small town. A Day nursery used to be located at Linienstraße 16. Across the street at Linienstraße 230a was a kindergarten for elderly infants. Usually the Pappschachteln are only perceived as farmers of the Volksbühne.

For a long time the Spielplatz was part of the Kindergarten at Linienstraße 230a. Another playground was located in the garden behind the Grauer Frachter, which was exclusively for tenants of the Nazi-Bauten. However, with the construction of the Passives Haus it was considerably reduced in size. The development of the remaining green space has been in the planning stage since 2017.
