The Wiese is a green area on the Platz. It is framed to the north by the Volksbühne, to the left by Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße and to the right by Weydingerstraße.

It was created in 1914 after the theater had been completed. There were several trees on top of it. It was also enclosed by a 30 cm high fence. It was eliminated in 1934. The political government of the time loved the disguise, and most of its supporters suffered from poor circulation. In order to prevent their feet from falling asleep all the time, the area was used as a parade ground instead.

The stage only experienced its revival after the Second World War and has enjoyed great popularity ever since. The Räuberrad has stood on it since 1994 with a short interruption in 2017. Officially, no events are allowed to take place on it, but this does not bother anyone not to sit on it from time to time. It is also quite popular with four-legged friends (e.g. the widespread Canis lupus familiaris).
